Portage Lakes Dr. Dam Walking Trail

Here are photos of our beautifully redesigned Portage Lakes Drive dam property. After the construction of the dam, Coventry Township was able to lease the property in a long-term arrangement with the State.
With input and cooperation from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), and a substantial grant that Portage Lakes Advisory Council identified and assisted with obtaining and planning, Coventry Township was able develop the area into an attractive walking path with greenery and resting spots to enjoy the scenery of the lakes.
Parking is available across Portage Lakes Drive in the lot next to Rafferty Electric. Coventry Township trustees are working with and petitioning the Summit County Engineer to install a crosswalk for the safety of pedestrians, and perhaps a reduction in allowable speed on that section of Portage Lakes Drive.
This is an area to be enjoyed by all, please remember it’s a “carry-in, carry-out” area for trash and refuse. Never, anywhere, should you leave litter for someone else to pick up.
