Millie is the name of ODNR’s dredge that will be sucking up sediment and improving navigation on the PLX for the next several years. Portage Lakes Advisory Council has been advocating for this for years, so seeing her floating in the water is a big deal. The dredge project will be in the Portage Lakes for the next 5-7 years. The sediment will be transported by sunken hose to the 15 acre dredge waste material site that was completed last year at New State Park. More to come as the staging of the equipment continues.
