Lynn Stamp Conservation Award
The Portage Lakes Advisory Council seeks to honor the contributions of Lynn Stamp in the Portage Lakes community. This Council recognizes Lynn’s commitment, dedication and contributions as a volunteer with the Portage Lakes Advisory Council, serving as its President for 7 years.
Lynn Stamp’s volunteer work has helped facilitate communication between the local Portage Lakes community and government organizations to provide an avenue for hearing the community’s thoughts and ideas. Her passion for the Portage Lakes and its watershed has inspired many to volunteer to help ensure the Portage Lakes with its fish, plants, wildlife and beauty will be here for generations.
To continue Lynn’s life mission we are offering a $1000.00 scholarship for college bound students.
Criteria:
- Preference for Green, Manchester and Coventry High School Seniors.
- Preference for student with High School GPA of greater than 3.25.
- Preference for students with volunteer hours of service involving the environment and/or specifically the Portage Lakes area.

Portage Lakes Advisory Council Awards Scholarship
The Portage Lakes Advisory Council is pleased to announce the recipient of the Lynn Stamp Conservation Scholarship. Lynn was a member of the council for ten years and served as its President. She was dedicated to the Portage Lakes and committed to preserving them for generations to come.
This year’s scholarship recipient is Alexis Kepler, a Senior at Manchester High School who will be attending Kent State University-Stark Campus for the fall 2022 term to pursue a Business Management degree. Alexis has been active in community service participating in Safety City at Nolley Elementary teaching kindergarteners the importance of avoiding dangers and has also volunteered for the “Shop with a Cop” event to assist less fortunate children in the community. Alexis has volunteered for the “Run to the Beach” event for three years and participated in the Portage Lakes Litter Cleanup for three years.
Portage Lakes Advisory Council Board Members Award Scholarship
The Portage Lakes Advisory Council is pleased to announce Lillian Holloway has been awarded a scholarship for her community service and passion for the environment. Lillian is a recent graduate of Manchester High School and will be attending the University of Cincinnati to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and then attend medical school to become a neurologist.
Lillian has volunteered at many local events since a very young age, feeding eggs to Purple Martins, lending a hand to the Run to the Beach race events, helping to paint the “Kid’s Zone” at Portage Lakes State Park and helping to clean the environment by picking up litter at special events and on her own around the Portage Lakes.
